Meet Ian Flowers

Director of Operations

Ian graduated from Rockhurst University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a minor in Religious Studies.  He spent 5 years teaching in the Kansas City public education system.  As a High School special education teacher, Ian designed and adapted curricula to support students with learning differences and disabilities.  He worked across a broad spectrum of subjects providing both academic and behavioral support for at risk students.

Ian attended graduate school and obtained his professional teaching license in special education through the University of Missouri in 2018.  More recently, Ian was directly involved in the planning and development of Mount Tabor School as a long time parishioner of St. Mary of Egypt.  Ian has volunteered in the greeting ministry, served on the parish council as its Vice President, and offered religious education to the teens of the parish.  Ian is married to Jacque Flowers, the choir Director of St. Mary of Egypt, and they have two small children who they hope will someday attend Mount Tabor School where they both teach.
